OUR ICE WINE HAS BEEN PICKED !
After much anticipation, “Old Man Winter” finally decided to show his
true colours by bringing temperatures down to a low of -9 c on the night
of 27/28th . Over 15 volunteers showed up in the few hours of that morning
to pick each grape cluster by hand. Afterwards, they were treated to hot
coffee and a hot breakfast of home-made soup, and bratwurst.Unfortunately
because of the late arrival of “Cold Man Winter”, not to many Grapes
survived the constant attack from Birds, Coyotes and strong Wind. We thank
all the eager volunteers on our Icewine picking list for being ready for
the last three Months!
This year we will be producing both a white icewine (Pinot Blanc) and a
red icewine (Pinot Noir), as well as our late harvest “Summer Symphony”.
You can look forward to tasting 2001’s “Nectar of the Gods” next Fall
? it’s worth the wait!
